DevBuffer policies 01 / 02

Privacy, explained clearly.

This policy explains what happens to information you provide through the DevBuffer website, email or phone. It covers initial enquiries, not a separate client project governed by its own agreement.

We use enquiry details to understand your request and reply. The site does not ask for account passwords, payment details or customer records. An enquiry is not a service contract.

01

Information we receive

When you submit a form, email us or call, you may provide your name, work contact details, organisation, country or time zone, project description, systems involved, budget range, timing and other details you choose to include. The automation brief also asks whether a workflow involves categories of sensitive information. It does not ask you to upload the underlying records.

The optional Search Signal Desk testing invitation form asks only for an email address and your express agreement to be contacted about testing. The public demo works without signing up. If you import a Queries CSV into the demo, it is analysed in your browser and is not submitted with the testing invitation form.

When you visit the site, hosting and font providers may receive technical information needed to deliver their services, such as your IP address, browser or device type, requested page and time of access. We do not ask visitors to create an account on this public website.

Please do not send passwords, API keys, production access, customer records, health information, financial records or other confidential material through the public forms or initial email.

02

How we use information

We use enquiry information to assess whether we can help, ask relevant follow-up questions, discuss a possible scope and fee, respond to requests, maintain business correspondence and protect the website from misuse. Sending an enquiry does not automatically approve a project, set a price or reserve a start date.

We use a testing invitation email only to contact you about an opportunity to test Search Signal Desk. We do not add it to a general marketing list. Providing an address does not guarantee an invitation or access. You can withdraw your interest at any time using the contact details below.

We do not sell enquiry information. We do not use the public enquiry form to make a decision that significantly affects a person without a separate review and agreement.

03

Providers and processing locations

Netlify hosts this website and processes form submissions. Submissions are stored in Netlify Forms. Our email provider processes correspondence, and some pages request fonts from Google Fonts. These providers receive information needed to provide their respective services.

Provider infrastructure and personnel may process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We cannot promise that enquiries or technical logs remain in Australia. We may also share information with people assisting DevBuffer to assess or deliver a requested project, or where disclosure is required by law. A separate project agreement can set additional handling rules before client data is shared.

04

Retention and security

We keep enquiry and correspondence records for as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage a potential or active engagement, maintain business records and meet applicable obligations. Different enquiries may require different periods. You can request deletion of information that is no longer needed, subject to legal or legitimate record requirements.

We review testing invitation requests and remove addresses when they are no longer needed for that purpose, or on a withdrawal request, subject to applicable record requirements.

We use the controls available in our hosting and email services and limit access to people who need the information for these purposes. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If a project needs confidential data or system access, we will arrange an appropriate channel and permissions separately rather than using a public enquiry form.

05

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask what information we hold about you, request a correction or raise a privacy concern by emailing support@devbuffer.com with the subject Privacy request. You may also call +61 437 542 359. Please provide enough context to locate the relevant enquiry. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing information.

We will review your request and explain any reason we cannot fulfil it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may seek advice from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or an applicable privacy authority.

06

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our website services or information practices materially change. The date at the top shows when this version was last updated. For questions about a specific project agreement, contact us directly.
